Staring. That’s all that really happened. But the feelings expressed behind that gaze were worth more than a thousand jets. My heart fluttered as did his surely, or so I naively hoped. The harder I fought against it, the stronger it fought back. Those damn feelings. His brown eyes soft like a puddle and yet deep and fierce like a grizzly bear. Those eyes that took me back to the past, back to all the laughs we shared, all of the long talks and to those forced goodbyes, those goodbyes that happened so quickly and were the only thing none of us wanted to share. I called him by his name just because I wanted to, I loved how the word and letters tumbled down my tongue, each vowel and consonant just being the perfect mixture of each, like the perfect dance partner and just the right flavour of a dressing, those that make you close your eyes and sigh in pleasure.
